Marketing holds a very special place in my heart because this is what the Network Marketing industry is really about.
Let me take a step back and explain. A lot of people get confused when they first join this business. They seem to think that this business is all about “networking” and not “marketing”. When that couldn’t be further from the truth. And I don’t blame most network marketers for thinking this way. I mean, that’s what was taught to me by my upline as well when I first joined this business.
If you go out there and constantly “network” with other people, you are positioning yourself as a prospector who is constantly “chasing” other people for their business. What you will need to learn how to do is “market” well so that you will be in a position of power and will “attract” other people towards you. It is all about LEVERAGE which is really what this industry is about.
Network Marketing
For those of you who have read my story, you will know that I would love to leave the corporate world. The penguin suits, the 3 foot cubicle, the politics, what could be worse than that?! I have to get the Time and Financial Freedom that I really hoped for! Network Marketing was my escape and as they say, the rest is history. This could be one of the most amazing and rewarding industries out there in the market place. And it does have the potential to create more millionaires than any other industry in the world.
But it is not for the faint hearted. As the failure rate in this business is at a ridiculous 97%. However, doing the right research, using the right systems, keeping the right mindset and following the right leaders will undoubtedly put you in the position to succeed.
MLM Companies
With so many MLM Companies out there, what company do you join? Let me first say that success in this business has very little to do with the actual MLM company that you are with. Now of course it is important to join a company that has a good track record, has great products and has a good compensation plan. But then, why would you join a company if not for these reasons?
So when it comes down to it, success in this business is NOT about the company. Because unless you have a cure for cancer, your marketing strategy and your efforts will be the sole reason for your success or failure, NOT your company’s brand name or products. It is all about learning HOW to market your business well, everything else comes second.
MLM Trainers
This is one of those businesses where following the right leader can really have a huge impact on the direction which you take in your business. And there are so many strong MLM Trainers out there, who do you follow?
If your current leader isn’t cutting it, don’t worry, it’s not the end of your MLM career. There are many strong leaders out there who will be willing to work with you on your journey through the Network Marketing game. The key is to pick someone that you look up to and feel that you can learn a lot from. The other trick is to surround yourself with people and leaders that have exactly what you want. Go out there, learn, emulate and perfect!
MLM Marketing Training
I covered this earlier, but it is extremely important to realize that this business is all about the right MLM Marketing Training. Without this, you will have a very tough journey through this business. Educating yourself on the most current marketing techniques in this business should be an on-going daily habit that you should cultivate.
There are many different great sources of marketing training available, but to get started, I would highly recommend going to a source that breaks everything down for you in a simple format. There is no point spending thousands of dollars on different specific strategies right at the start that may get you nowhere and costs a bomb. Start with a good overall foundation and then slowly branch off into more specific marketing training if need be.
MLM Lead Generation
This business is all about driving traffic to your business opportunity. Whether you have an offline or online strategy, without leads you have NO business. So it is very crucial that you get good at this as quickly as possible.
My advice would be to focus on 2 or 3 MLM Lead Generation strategies that you like, and then get really good at them. There is no point trying to focus on everything under the sun. If you do this, you may spread yourself too thin and may not get the results that you want. Focusing and perfecting strategies is the key to success in your lead generation efforts.
